Pernille is a UK based multi-discipline artist interested in the peripheral, ephemera and movement.
In recent years Pernille has come to focus on the forces we encounter; those which imply forms of movement, but which aren’t necessarily visible, going unseen; such as the tangible pressures we perceive and experience our internal/external spaces during these times. Various threads of research enforce these aspects and center upon Mindfulness, Eastern Aesthetics (such as Wabi Sabi (appreciation of the imperfect), Mono No Aware (a sensitivity to ephemera), neurosciences and neurodiversity. In an attempt to translate the peripheral visceral affects/effects experienced.
The body of work you see exhibited here has been specifically created with education in mind. Pernille invites the viewer to look to the edges for greater understanding of missed nuances. How, instead of focusing on the immediate front and center western view/ego we can draw from external peripheral missed nuances and connections; querying how a change in approach in both teaching and learning could be transformative.
